Maurille is a Dutch artist known for her bold compositions, striking color palettes, and poetic visuals. Using the quietness from growing up in the 1970-ties in a small town and in contrast the rawness of the city of Utrecht where she moved to when she was 17. Here she found the outsiders, the music, pure emotions and life.

“At the heart of my paintings lie endless life experiences. I explore vulnerability and the raw emotional rollercoaster of being alive. My work is very intuitive and based on emotions and thoughts. They mirror and reflect on personal experiences, moments of joy and sorrow. Taking these experiences and placing them in front of me on the canvas is my way of experiencing life in full. My work is colorful and the mark-making reflects my immediate emotions and the way I see the world, translating the stories I carry with me into compositions. Discovering myself and digging in deeper with every brush stroke.”
